The 100 most cited decisions of the EPO Boards of Appeal of all times

In this blog, the 100 most cited decisions (of all times) of the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office will be summarised and/or discussed. "Cited" in this context means cited in other Board of Appeal decisions. The idea is of course that those decisions, which are frequently cited, are more likely to be important and influential than others. As it turns out, "G" decisions from the Enlarged Board are very abundant among the top-100 cited decisions, but also "J" and "T" decisions made it to the list.

Since some of the top-100 decisions are meanwhile out-dated, e.g., relate to previous versions of Articles and Rules of the EPC, a graph showing the number of citations over the years will be provided for each decision. This gives a good idea whether a certain decision is still valid, and when it was most en vogue.

Hope you enjoy reading.
